Who should take this course?

This course is geared towards those who have had or are planning to have top surgery, and are looking for accessible ways to heal and soothe afterwards. Bodyworkers are also encouraged to take this class in order to deepen their skillset and practice around comprehensive care for trans and non-binary folks.

Why take this course?

The depth of somatic integration that a person can experience through receiving Top Surgery Scar Tissue Remediation Massage (STRM) is priceless - it can and does generate liberation within a person’s body. Whether you choose to take this course for your own healing, and/or in order to support others’ in theirs, this information and practice will revolutionize the sense of self a person can tap into after gender-affirming surgery. Both our anatomical and energetic hearts are carried in our chest, and it is absolutely key to be able to fully breathe into the heart without the restrictions imposed by dense scar tissue. It is our birthright to reclaim our bodies in the ways we see fit, and this course will bolster one’s tools to savor that autonomy.

Pati Garcia, LM, CPM, CSB


Pati Garcia (dey/dem) is a Queer Midwife and longtime bodyworker. Pati has been in the field for over 15 years as a bodyworker, birth and full spectrum doula, Sexological Bodyworker, and midwife. With roots in both Peru and Mexico, Pati brings a depth of knowledge that includes non-western understandings of the human experience.
